01 The brief
Bathrooms designed with the house, not added to it
These bathrooms were part of a fully custom two-storey home that HEW Projects designed from scratch for a young family in Bridgeman Downs. Instead of standard inclusions, each bathroom was planned around the people who would use it, while sharing one palette so the home reads as a whole.
The house was stepped to suit its sloping block, which gave some rooms up to three metres of headroom and the bathrooms a strong architectural setting.
02 The master ensuite
A private retreat in dark marble and black
The master ensuite is the showpiece. A full wall of dark marble-look porcelain frames a matte black freestanding bath with a floor-mounted black bath filler, set beneath a wide frosted window for privacy and natural light.
A long floating vanity with pendant lighting and a full-width mirror faces a generous walk-in shower behind black-framed glass, so the room feels calm and uncluttered.
03 The guest ensuite and family bathroom
The same palette, built for everyday life
The other two bathrooms carry the same grey stone-look walls and dark marble-look feature tiles, paired with black floating vanities, white tops and matte black tapware. Recessed shower niches keep bottles off the floor and out of sight.
