HEW Projects is a Logan building company based in Slacks Creek, and bathroom renovations in Beenleigh and the surrounding suburbs are a big part of what we do. We are a QBCC licensed builder (licence 15267396) and a Master Builders Queensland member (member 087220), which means one licensed builder takes responsibility for your renovation from the first visit to the final walk-through.
Our recent Logan work includes a full bathroom in Tanah Merah, a bathroom in South Maclean and an ensuite in Chambers Flat that went back to the frame and came out as a terrazzo-look wet room. The same team, process and standard of waterproofing come to Beenleigh.
Every Beenleigh renovation starts with a free on-site visit. We measure up, check the floor and walls for signs of past leaks, and talk through how you want the room to work. The written quote that follows spells out the scope, the finishes and the order of works, so there is no guesswork once demolition starts.
From a single ensuite to a bigger renovation, every job is scoped around your home and how you use it.
Strip-out to the frame, new plumbing and electrical where needed, waterproofing to the Australian Standard, then floor to ceiling tiling and new fixtures. One builder runs every trade.
Small ensuites get the same full process as a main bathroom. Wall-hung vanities, recessed niches and a walk-in shower can make a tight room feel far bigger.
Swap an awkward shower over bath for a walk-in shower, or keep the bath and add a frameless screen. The floor is set out to fall to the waste so water drains where it should.
A bathroom is often the start of a bigger plan. As a licensed builder we also renovate kitchens and whole homes, so the work can be staged under one builder.
Beenleigh is one of Logan’s oldest towns, and the housing shows it. Near the town centre you will find older timber homes, while much of Beenleigh, Eagleby, Edens Landing and Bethania is made up of brick lowset homes built from the 1970s onwards, alongside newer estate houses. Each era brings its own bathroom problems.
In older timber homes, the bathroom often sits on a timber floor that has moved over the years, so the floor needs to be checked, levelled and properly sheeted before it can take new waterproofing and tiles. In 1970s and 1980s brick homes it is common to find small wall tiles, tiled shower hobs, cracked grout and leaking shower recesses that have quietly damaged the wall frame or the floor next to the shower. Homes built before 1990 may also contain asbestos in wet area sheeting, which should be tested and removed by a licensed removalist before demolition.
In the newer streets of Loganholme, Edens Landing and Bethania, bathrooms are usually in better shape but dated: a corner spa bath, a framed shower screen, a single vanity and plain builder’s range tiles. These rooms are good candidates for a layout rethink, such as removing the spa to fit a larger walk-in shower, adding a double vanity or turning a cramped ensuite into a proper wet room.
Whatever the age of the house, the order of work matters. Plumbing and electrical are roughed in first, the room is waterproofed and given time to cure, then tiling and fit-off follow. Skipping steps is how leaks start, so we do not skip them.
