The main bathroom
Same window, a whole new room
Drag the handle to compare. The built-in bath, white wall tiles and dark vanity made way for a freestanding bath under the window, grey finger tiles and a timber-look vanity with a mirrored shaving cabinet.
01 The starting point
Two dated rooms, one plan
The original rooms had plain white tiles and dark vanities with square vessel basins. They were functional, but outdated.
The brief was two modern, practical bathrooms that feel connected but not identical. The layout, materials and finishes were refined with the owners so each room had a clear plan and a cohesive, high-end result.
02 The main bathroom
Grey finger tiles and matte black
Vertical grey finger tiles line the vanity wall and frame the shower niche, set against large-format stone-look porcelain on the floor and remaining walls. Matte black tapware, a black rail shower and frameless glass with black hardware give the room crisp contrast.
A freestanding bath sits under the window to make the most of the natural light. Beside it, a timber-look vanity on a black frame carries an above-counter basin, with a mirrored shaving cabinet and integrated timber shelf above.
03 The ensuite
Green herringbone and brushed brass
The ensuite takes a warmer direction. Green herringbone tiles cover the vanity wall behind two arched mirrors, and a curved, fluted timber-look double vanity floats below with two above-counter basins.
In the shower, brushed brass tapware and a twin rain and hand shower sit against soft stone-look porcelain. Recessed niches finished in deep blue mosaic finger tiles add storage and a hit of colour, and a frameless screen with brass hinges keeps the room open.
04 Behind the tiles
Built to last
Both rooms were taken back for a complete rebuild. Substrates were prepared properly and an upgraded waterproofing system was installed to Australian Standards before any tile went down.
