From shower over bath to walk-in shower

01 The starting point
A shower over bath in white subway tile
The original Silkstone bathroom had white subway tiles, dark floor tiles and a shower over bath set across the window wall, with a vessel basin on a grey top beside the toilet.
The aim was a streamlined, modern room that felt more open and would be easier to maintain. The space was fully demolished and rebuilt from the substrate up.
02 The walk-in shower
Open, bright and built for storage
The new walk-in shower sits under the window, with frameless glass and a slim matte black frame that keeps the room feeling open. Two recessed niches are stacked on the side wall for built-in storage.
A linear floor waste runs along the shower floor for a clean, minimal look and efficient drainage. Behind the tiles, the substrate was properly prepared and the waterproofing was upgraded to Australian Standards.
03 The finish
Neutral porcelain, black accents, warm timber
Large-format neutral porcelain runs across the floor and up the walls, cutting down grout lines and giving the room one calm, cohesive surface. Matte black shower fittings, tapware and hooks add contrast without overpowering it.
