The vanity wall
Same room, a different feeling
Drag the handle to compare. Dark tiles and mismatched cabinetry made way for stone-look porcelain, a fluted timber vanity with twin vessel basins and warm wall lights either side of the mirrors.
01 The starting point
A dark bathroom with good bones
The original Rochedale bathroom had dark woodgrain-look tiles in the shower, dark floor tiles and two separate basins on mismatched cabinetry. The layout itself worked well for daily use.
The owners had approached several builders before calling HEW, and wanted a team that would respond and follow through. Our team booked a site visit promptly and set out a clear, detailed scope from the start.
02 The design
Guided choices, same footprint
During the design phase we worked closely with the owners, explaining what was achievable within the space and guiding each selection so the final design matched both their vision and their practical needs.
With the layout kept, the focus went onto the finishes: large-format stone-look porcelain on the walls and floor, a custom floating vanity with a fluted timber front and curved end, and twin vessel basins with wall-mounted brushed brass tapware.
03 The lighting
Warm light, built into the walls
Lighting does a lot of the work in this room. Recessed niches in the frameless glass shower and beside the freestanding bath are lit with a warm glow, and glass wall lights frame the two arched mirrors above the vanity.
A brushed brass rail shower with a rain head ties in with the tapware and fittings. See more of our bathroom renovations in Brisbane.
