01 The layout

A bath under the window

This Tanah Merah bathroom was fully demolished and rebuilt, with the layout planned to get the most out of a compact room. A freestanding back-to-wall bath now sits beneath the window, where it catches the natural light without crowding the space.

Wall-mounted bath tapware keeps the edge of the bath clear, and a long towel rail sits within easy reach.

02 The shower

Frameless glass and built-in storage

The shower is enclosed in frameless glass so light travels through the whole room. Inside, a rail shower and rain head, a recessed niche for built-in storage and a neat square floor waste set into the tiles.

Behind the finishes, the substrate was properly prepared and the waterproofing was upgraded to Australian Standards, so the shower is built to last.

03 The finish

Terrazzo underfoot, warm timber above

Large-format neutral porcelain lines the walls with minimal grout lines, while terrazzo-style porcelain on the floor adds texture and hides everyday wear. The palette stays calm and cohesive from floor to ceiling.
