01 The brief
A full family home on a compact block
The owners, a young couple with two children, wanted a spacious and efficient home in Bellbird Park without giving up on finishes or function. With 392m² to work with, every square metre of the floor plan had to earn its place.
HEW Projects designed the home from scratch around one open hub for cooking and living, private bedrooms and a separate room for family movie nights.
02 The kitchen
Stone island, walk-in pantry
The kitchen sits at the centre of the home. A 14mm stone island with waterfall ends and an undermount sink faces the living area, with dark overhead cabinetry, a marble-look splashback and copper-toned pendants above.
A separate walk-in pantry keeps everyday clutter out of sight, so the benches stay clear.
03 Living and media
Room to spread out
Large 600×600 porcelain tiles run through the living zones, and high ceilings with ceiling fans keep the open-plan area light and airy. Full-height sheer and block-out curtains soften every window.
Beyond the main lounge, a dedicated media room gives the family a second place to settle in for the evening.
04 Outdoor living
Straight out to the alfresco
Large sliding doors open from the living area to a covered, tiled alfresco beside a neat, low-maintenance lawn. It is an easy extension of the kitchen and lounge for weekend meals outside.
05 The bedrooms
Calm, generous bedrooms
All four bedrooms are generously sized, including the master suite with its own ensuite. Soft neutral walls, a warm feature colour behind the bed and full-height curtains keep them restful.
Solar was installed as part of the build, and the home went up beside another HEW Projects custom home, showing the team can deliver quality efficiently on a smaller block with neighbouring construction underway.
